From The Director's Desk Change is never easy, yet constant and occurring all around us. As individuals or organizations, it can evoke a degree of uneasiness, anxiety, excitement or even joy. How we react and deal with that change plays a significant role in how our future may look. One thing is for certain, change is and continues to take place here in York County.
New 2018 population estimates released recently indicate that York County now has a population of over 274,000 people. This is a 3% increase over 2017 and a 21% increase from 2010. As our population grows, it makes it increasingly important to attract and sustain companies that will provide jobs for years to come.
Whether that means assisting companies as they grow, making sure new companies feel welcome, bolstering the economic development success created by grassroots efforts in our municipalities and towns, or cultivating an environment hospitable for entrepreneurs to flourish --- we continue to strive for this balance.
We continue to work hard to attract new companies into the area, engage existing businesses, and promote all the great assets and opportunities York County has to offer. Many of the key assets and activities that make us special are highlighted in our new Living in York County piece below. Check it out as we collectively celebrate the things that make York County -- The Location You Need. The Life You Want.
Sincerely,
– David Swenson, Director of York County Economic Development
