Moxie Mercantile owner snags Fort Mill space to open another local boutique
Moxie Mercantile is headed to Fort Mill.
Owner Michelle Castelloe will add a 1,900-square-foot store at 219 Main St.
Expect that location to feature women’s apparel and lifestyle products.
Plans are to highlight the building's features, which include original wood flooring and exposed brick.
“I was drawn to Fort Mill because of the preserved historic downtown. I love being in small cities where I personally enjoy spending time and have the opportunity to build relationships with the community,” Castelloe says.
She has worked with Kuester Commercial Real Estate to secure that location. The storefront is along historic Main Street on the same strip as Local Dish, Hobos, Town Tavern, The Improper Pig and Amor Artis Brewing.
Casetelloe opened her first Moxie Mercantile store in Plaza Midwood in 2015, selling curated goods including vintage glassware, pottery, art and jewelry. It has since expanded with locations in Davidson and Matthews.
A sister boutique concept, Betty by Moxie Mercantile, opened in Plaza Midwood last October. It carries apparel ranging from dresses and T-shirts to jeans and accessories, including hand-made jewelry, bags and hats. There are also baby and kids’ clothing, toys and gifts.
