One of York County’s Most Popular Business Parks Gets a New Addition
Construction begins on New Industrial Speculative building
YORK COUNTY, SC – One of York County’s most popular business parks is getting a new addition. Located just one mile from I-77, Exit 77, construction recently began at 2020 Williams Industrial Drive, on a 122,300-square-foot industrial speculative building located in Legacy Park East in Rock Hill, SC.
Slated for completion in the summer of 2022, the new project developed by SL Management Group Southeast a general contracting division of the Silverman Group, will include 32-foot clear heights, 51 dock-high doors, 2 drive in doors, a 178-foot truck court, 50 trailer parking spaces, 132 auto spaces as well as build-to-suit office solutions. 2020 Williams Industrial Drive will be the third building in Legacy Park East a part of SL Industrial Partners portfolio an industrial division of the Silverman Group. Located just 30 minutes from the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, this welcomed announcement is timely as York County continues to see increasing demand for flexible space suitable for manufacturing companies.
In the last several years Rock Hill, and Legacy Park in particular, have seen a flurry of activity. The business park has seen 780,000 square-feet of space absorbed since 2019, as high profile companies such as Arrival, an electric vehicle microfactory, and DIRTT have found it strikes the perfect balance in regards to location and workforce needs.
“We are well positioned within the greater Charlotte region by having new industrial spec product coming online each year. This ready-to-go space, combined with access to nearly 1M workers within a 30-minute drive, and a South Carolina business location is a real asset to manufacturers considering the region.” Jason Flora, project manager for York County Economic Development shared.
“The fact that over 60,000 workers commute out of York County each day, along with a region that is growing by more than 100 residents a day, sets the tone for companies looking to attract and retain the talent they need close to home,“ Flora added.
In addition to talent, the park provides the significant infrastructure needs vital for manufacturing for day to day operations.
“The City of Rock Hill Utilities holds the RP3 designation as a reliable public power provider. We are also the regional water provider, with significant system capacity capable of serving these manufacturing companies," shared Rick Norwood, Director of Industrial Recruitment for Rock Hill Economic Development.
“We are known for quality infrastructure in our business parks, and I'm proud that we deliver that service in a customer-focused way.”
